Handmade and bound

''Handmade & Bound is an independent fair with affordable, handmade artists’ books, comics and zines. It was conceived partly in response to the fact that there will be no London Artists book fair at the ICA in 2008, and further in response to the changes to the nature of that event when it returns in 2009 at the Whitechapel Art Gallery. So we decided to make our own.''
This is an exciting project that should happen more often to corner a market in book Art. Illustrators and writers need to combine forces in order to create inspiring and beautiful books to rival down loadable books via kindle.
 Illustration is very much lacking in the majority of book sections and confined to children's books. Recently my head has been inside 'I wonder' book by Marian Bantjes, Gasping and woooahing at its beautiful approach to the ornament and typography. More of this please!
